What exciting time to be part of Public Health at TCNJ! We now have options to consider a Master’s of Public Health both at TCNJ and at Rutgers, School of Public Health. Current seniors and juniors may elect to take up to two TCNJ graduate level courses beginning next semester. Look for the TCNJ classes under PBHG. Also, our major has been revised to have specializations in social science and communication so look for these changes in PAWS. New classes are being offered in the spring, namely Environmental and Occupational Health.
The Public Health Communication Club is very active and upcoming is a focus on men’s health for Brovember. Contact Cara Brenn and/or Tristan Gibson for more information. We are still planning for Public Health week so please submit your suggestions.
Students seeking internships over the winter break and for the spring should be coordinating with Mei Zhao in 206 Trenton Hall. If you are going to apply for opportunities at NIH, CDC or other federal agencies for next summer, those applications will be due in the next few months. Please keep us in the loop if you are applying for these.
With health care concerns a hot topic at the national level and the current executive order having an impact on every state, public health advocates are needed now more than ever. We encourage all interested in public health to be involved by selecting some community based organization or public health agency to support through volunteer or intern opportunities. Contributing is important, the time is now. Every step forward, IS a step forward.
